Job Description

Launceston College are looking for a calm, approachable and organised person to become part of our school community as a Pastoral Support Worker. Pastoral Support workers work within the House teams and provide a range of support, including behaviour and safeguarding support, to students in Key Stage 3 and 4 so that they make the best possible progress in all aspects of their development.

The successful candidate will join one of our four House teams, working to provide appropriate support, advice and information all staff involved with key students. The position will also involve liaising with staff, families and external agencies, as appropriate, regarding students who have been identified as a cause for concern or in need of additional support. Pastoral Support Workers are also required to carry out administrative duties associated with the pastoral support team e.g. making appointments and reviewing student progress.

Job Title: Pastoral Support Worker

Hours: Full time, 37 hours

Weeks per year: 38 (term time only)

Grade/Salary:  Grade C1, £9.59 (£18,500) – C5 £10.87 (£20,980) actual salary from £15,302.42 - £17,353.77.

Contract: Permanent, to commence as soon as possible.
