Job Description

Bideford College are recruiting Cover Supervisors to join their enthusiastic, committed team of cover staff who work closely with teachers to provide continuity to children’s learning during teacher absences.

These are term-time only positions and there is an opportunity for part-time or full-time hours.

A cover supervisor stands in during short-term absences of a teacher. These might be known in advance (for example, where a teacher has a medical appointment or is undergoing professional development) or unexpected (for example, absence due to illness).

Working as a cover supervisor can be extremely rewarding but also very demanding. There is a high level of responsibility and although there is always a teacher close at hand if needed, there is a large amount of autonomy.

Do you have previous experience of working with young people or a desire to embark on a career working in this area?

Are you a flexible, resilient team player?

Do you have excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills?

Would you be confident in using a range of strategies to deal with classroom behaviour as a whole, and also individual behavioural needs?

We are looking for part time and full time (30 hours) positions, temporary contract.

Salary C1 - C5 £9.59 - £10.87 (£12,734 - £14,441)

Closing date: Monday 19th April 2021, 9am

Interview date: TBC
