Launceston College Trust have an exciting opportunity for someone to work at one of their Secondary school’s on the beautiful North Devon coast, Atlantic Academy. You will gain valuable workplace experience whilst working towards a qualification. 

The role

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who will support and engage with different parts of the Academy and Trust and have interactions with important internal and external functional relationships. 

The role holder will:

  • Undertake administrative tasks, including word processing, maintaining spread sheets, preparing resources
  • Liaise with outside agencies to book appointments as directed by pastoral or faculty staff
  • Receive and prioritising telephone calls, dealing with them appropriately including accurately recording messages.  Responding to queries including prioritising issues and investigating queries
  • Assist with the organisation of school events, including open evenings, Leavers' Day, Adventure Learning Week and transition

  • Administer all necessary documentation to support the Educational Visits Coordinator (EVC), including regular communication with Cornwall Council Outdoor Educational team.  This involves following set procedures and communicating effectively with colleagues externally and within College
  • Undertake lunchtime supervisory duty on a daily basis
  • Undertake reception cover and welcome visitors as required
  • Be first aid trained and to cover the College first aid requirements as necessary
  • Maintain confidentiality of information acquired in the course of undertaking duties for the department 

The Apprenticeship

Delivery of the apprenticeship programme will take place with Focus Training (SW) Ltd, commencing September 2021. 

The apprenticeship will be delivered over a period of approximately 15-18 months. Following completion of the apprenticeship, the successful candidate will receive a Level 3 qualification in Business Administration.

The Launceston College Multi Academy Trust (Trust) consists of six schools. They are Altarnun Primary, Atlantic Academy, Bideford College, Egloskerry Primary, Launceston College and Launceston Primary School (opening in September 2021).
